Victorious Living

By Rev. Jackie Jackson

I've learned a big lesson in life... You don't have to become a victim
of circumstance, or a product of what you've been through. You can either
take the posture of a victor or a victim. The choice is yours! We are given
that opportunity each time something negative happens. You can either see
yourself as the winner or the one being constantly attacked. Even in a
football game you have an offense and a defense. I'd rather be on the
offense because the offensive position is one of pursuit, and a relentless
passion to reach the goal (whatever and wherever it may be), and the
boldness to do so. The defensive position is one that is always in protection
mode and has the tough job of stopping the pursuer. The defensive team is
usually worn out, the most beat up and the most tired. Make it up in your mind
that you cannot be stopped, and you will be a force in the earth.

Have you ever wondered what pain looks like? Shame? Depression?
Sometimes all we need to do is take a look in the mirror. What you may see is an image
that has been marred by life's challenges. As a matter of fact, you don't
even recognize the real you any longer because you've been so
disfigured.

The good news is, you don't have to allow your past situations to work
against you. Don't let the residue of the past leave an indelible mark
on you.

You are a winner and God has great things for you... so dust off the
pain, shake off the shame, and depress the depression. There is a whole new
you that the world has yet to see. "Arise form the depression and
prostration in which circumstances have kept you, shine, be radiant for thy light has
come and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you." Isaiah 60:1-2 (AMP)

Unleash the new you!
